August 15 - A thriller without thrilling moments

Very disappointed to see another film which had HUGE expectations. Theatre was almost empty even on the 3rd day. Too sad producer M.Mani lost his money again. Shaji Kailas and Mammooty did this film to help the producer to recover his loss in DRONA 2010- A film by Shaji Kailas with Mammooty in double roles.

August 15 was supposed to be a thriller. But it lacked thrilling moments.

Was very SHOCKING to see the film. S.N Swami Sir (Script writer) just copied the exact moments and characters from the prequel "August 1". He even replicated the thieves played by Innocent and Lissy in "August 1" with Harisree Asokan and a TV artiste. Too sad.

There was nothing new to offer in this film. "August 1" was a better film regarding Direction, Script-writing and characterisation. Oh!!! we missed Captain Raju. what a character he portrayed in "August 1". He is still in our mind. It was an unforgettable role.

Siddique tried something new with different body language and make-up but he fell short because of shallow characterisation.

Mammooty was refreshing but this film lacked THRILLING MOMENTS. It was like a documentary. I wonder what happened to the directorial skill of Shaji Kailas. Is he losing his midas touch? Or it was because of a BAD script?

Verdict

Better buy the DVD of "August 1" and see it with your family in your house.

Christian Brothers - A review

Went to see Christian Brothers with lots of expectations, and as usual expectations give us disappointment.

Christian Brothers is a mini Twenty twenty but with a loose plot served with high dose of dialogues. Script-writers (Udaya Krishna - Sibi K Thomas) could not repeat the magic of Twenty Twenty. Too many complications and loose ends in the script. Thanks to Joshiy Sir, who did a good job. But even he could not save the film.

The major attraction is as usual Lalettan (Mohan lal). He did justice to his role and he gave super performance even in small gestures and looks. But his hair style was a let down.

Suresh Gopi too had a good role, but poor Sarath Kumarwho is looking for a break in malayalam industry got wasted in the film. He got nothing to do in the film.

Kavya Madhavan looked very beautiful and was an eye-candy.

After leaving the theatre, what we have is a major head-ache because of confusions and heavy dialogues in the script.

Even though I am a fan of Mohanlal.....this film was a disappontment.

Verdict

If you are a HARD-CORE fan of mohanlal, go and watch this film. Otherwise, please don't waste your money and time.
