Very disappointed to see another film which had HUGE expectations. Theatre was almost empty even on the 3rd day. Too sad producer M.Mani lost his money again. Shaji Kailas and Mammooty did this film to help the producer to recover his loss in DRONA 2010- A film by Shaji Kailas with Mammooty in double roles.
August 15 was supposed to be a thriller. But it lacked thrilling moments.
Was very SHOCKING to see the film. S.N Swami Sir (Script writer) just copied the exact moments and characters from the prequel "August 1". He even replicated the thieves played by Innocent and Lissy in "August 1" with Harisree Asokan and a TV artiste. Too sad.
There was nothing new to offer in this film. "August 1" was a better film regarding Direction, Script-writing and characterisation. Oh!!! we missed Captain Raju. what a character he portrayed in "August 1". He is still in our mind. It was an unforgettable role.
Siddique tried something new with different body language and make-up but he fell short because of shallow characterisation.
Mammooty was refreshing but this film lacked THRILLING MOMENTS. It was like a documentary. I wonder what happened to the directorial skill of Shaji Kailas. Is he losing his midas touch? Or it was because of a BAD script?
Verdict
Better buy the DVD of "August 1" and see it with your family in your house.
